Up North Plastics is currently seeking a Master Electrician to join our Team. Up North Plastics produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction films, and agricultural film.  Up North Plastics recently completed a new building at our Cottage Grove MN location and is hiring due to company growth.

• Experience performing troubleshooting or engineering related functions on three phase 480V equipment in an industrial environment.
• A current Master Electrician's license OR the desire and ability to obtain a Master Electrician's license
• A strong desire to follow projects and processes through conceptualization to implementation and maintenance.
• The ability to self-motivate and complete independent assignments or components of group projects on a deadline.
• The aptitude and desire necessary to be a good student of Up North Plastics processes, equipment, and procedures.

The master electrician will be installing, upgrading, modifying, and working on various types of electrical systems. These systems included three phase power distribution, 480V three phase motors with variable frequency drive configurations, AC/DC drives and motors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), analog and digital circuitry, servo systems operating with multiple axis, industrial equipment networks and protocols, and human machine interfaces.

• Responsible for working with engineering and operations when planning equipment installation and alterations, propose upgrades to existing machinery when needed.

• Supervise the planning of plant and equipment maintenance and repair. Ensure that all repairs and projects are done in a safe and timely manner.

• Develop technical training and other maintenance practices to help eliminate downtime

• Identify and solve leading downtime contributors.

• The role may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or assigned by management.
